Reunionis a French overseas island located in the midst of the Indian Ocean, east of the island of Madagascar , South West of Mauritius. The island was previously known as île Bourbon. This enchanting destination is blessed with a tropical climate and beautiful volcanic landscapes, with its appeal being as much due to its white sandy beaches as its mountain scenery.
Administratively, Réunion is one of the overseas departments of France. Like the other four overseas departments, it is also one of the 18 regions of France, with the modified status of overseas region, and an integral part of the Republic with the same status as Metropolitan France.
